Every pup starts the same way, but each one finds their own calling. Here's how the 4 Paws journey works, plus the latest news from the Superhero litter.
The Path of a 4 Paws Pup
A hero is born. Every pup starts here, meeting a rotating cast of volunteers who introduce them to the world one happy experience at a time.
Every hero needs a mentor. They move in full time to learn house manners, basic commands, and the confidence to handle anything.
Rising to the challenge. New places, new sounds, new challenges. Their trainer sharpens their skills at every turn.
Finding their mission. Around their first birthday, each pup is assessed to find the path that fits them best. Every pup is different, so this can happen anytime.
Answering the call. Some become breeders for future service dogs. Some become service dogs for a child or veteran. And some become Fabulous Flunkies, joining a family as a very good, very spoiled pet.

It’s Carter here with some BIG news.
I’ve officially been promoted to Fabulous Flunky! After lots of hard work with my volunteer and time training with the 4 Paws team, everyone agreed that I’ll be happiest living life as a pet, and I couldn’t agree more.
I’ve got a lot of opinions that I think the world should hear. Like how badly I want to say hi to every dog we pass, how kids are the coolest and deserve lots of enthusiastic kisses(and hugs), and how every single toy definitely belongs to me. All for me.
And the best part? I found the perfect family who loves me exactly as I am. I’ve been adopted, and now I get to be my full, unapologetic self every single day. I get all the love, all the toys, and all the attention, and let me tell you, I am very spoiled.
