After years of adventures, the product that spawned a brand is officially retired. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to something that has been part of so many journeys with you and your dogs. Originally inspired by my dog Scout, the Dog ID 1 quickly became a trusted companion for thousands of families. While Scout is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the gear she inspired (that's her silhouette in the logo).

Because we pride ourselves on offering the very best dog gear you can buy. Period. To earn your trust, our gear is designed to be the yardstick by which all other gear is measured. The unfortunate reality is that our first generation DOG iD simply wasn't as good as it could be. More specifically, the strap that secures it to your pup's collar, just isn't durable enough to meet our extremely high standards.
Despite many attempts to improve its durability, nothing yielded the results needed to carry the DOG iD name. Our gear is meant to be the toughest, most trustworthy on the market. If we don't believe in a product 100%, we simply won’t sell it.
On the bright side, it was your feedback that helped shape the next generation ID—the Dog ID 2. It takes everything you loved about the original and makes it even better. Designed with your input, we made it stronger, safer, and ready for the toughest of adventures.

The innovative screw closure makes the Dog ID 2 stronger and more durable than any other dog tag on the planet. It's forged for silence and fabricated forever. We’ve also added a raised edge to protect the engraving. Plus, there’s even more room for important information—like emergency contacts, or some personality, like “catch me if you can” or “runs on belly rubs.”
